Feedback on e-learning platform


As a part of the ongoing academic reform process, Manipal University is reviewing improvement opportunities to the existing e-learning platform available to the students and faculty. Obtaining feedback from stakeholders is vital in terms of reviewing the effectiveness of the existing facility and planning for new features. We would appreciate your assistance in getting the survey completed. It may take about just five minutes to complete the survey. Responses are voluntary and will be kept confidential. Falling Walls Lab India 2017: Share your innovative idea and win a trip to Berlin !!!

We are pleased to share with you that the DAAD, DWIH (German House for Research and Innovation) New Delhi and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) are hosting the Falling Walls Lab India 2017.
The Lab will take place at IIT Madras on 12 August 2017, and the application deadline is 12 June 2017.

The Falling Walls Lab gives innovative young minds the opportunity to present their research project, business plan, entrepreneurial or social initiative that is relevant to the world of today to a panel of eminent jury and general public.

The winner of the Lab qualifies and gets funded by the DWIH to participate in the Lab Finale in Berlin on 8 November 2017

as one of 100 international and interdisciplinary participants.

The winner is also awarded with a ticket for the international Falling Walls Conference on 9 November 2016 where some of the world’s most prominent scientists present their current breakthrough research.

It is much appreciated, if you could circulate the information regarding the event and post the flyers on your bulletin board for the benefit of students/entrepreneurs/researchers.

More Information on Falling Walls Lab India 2017: The International Conference on Future Breakthroughs in Science and Society


1. Who can apply for the Falling Walls Lab? Great minutes and 3 minutes to fame !
The Falling Walls Lab addresses a broad range of people from all professional backgrounds and disciplines.
We are looking for:
Scholars, researchers and scientists (BA-students, MA-students, PhD-/ doctoral candidates and post-docs)
Entrepreneurs, engineers and young professionals (Start-ups, inventions, initiatives and business ideas)
Innovators from all areas – science, the humanities, arts, business and technology

The selection criteria are as follow:
If a person has a Bachelor’s degree, the degree should not date back more than 10 years.

If a person has a Master’s degree, the degree should not date back more than 7 years.

If a person has a PhD, the degree should not date back more than 5 years.

Postdocs and students currently enrolled in university are also eligible to apply. The applicant has to be of legal age (18 years or older) in order to participate in the Falling Walls Lab.

2. What can you win at the international Falling Walls Labs: Share your innovative idea and win a trip to Berlin !!!
The most intriguing presentations of each international Falling Walls Lab, hosted by an academic partner institution, will qualify for the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin on 8 November and receive an scholarship for the Falling Walls Conference on 9 November. Accommodation is covered from 8 to 9 November and travel costs are sponsored by each academic partner institution.

National Digital Library (NDL)- A digital knowledge source of the Nation: Request for registration



Dear All,

The National Digital Library (NDL) is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) and is getting scaled up gradually with respect to content volume and diversity to make it a full-blown National Digital Library of India over time, which will be a ubiquitous digital knowledge source of the nation.

As an initial step to participate in this digital movement, we have done the institutional Registration for Manipal Institute of Technology. Now, for accessing the digital content every individual (Faculty members, Non-teaching staff and Students) have to register in NDL.

Students can use the digital content on NDL under various Learning Resource Types like:

Please note that the following key points which need to be done to complete the Institutional Registration process:

● All students, teachers/faculty members and non-teaching staff of the Institute to be registered as user in NDL
● All students, teachers/faculty members and non-teaching staff of the Institute have activated the NDL registration

As a part of the registration, a verification link will be sent to each user in respective user’s e-mail id. Each user needs to complete his/her registration process just by clicking the link sent. In case any user is unable to retrieve the mail containing the link the user need to click the “Account Recovery” button in NDL website (https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in) to recover his/her login credentials.

You are also welcome to request your acquaintances to self-register in NDL using the “Register” button on the website https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in.

I am sure you will love to be an active participant in this exercise of building a national asset.
